REECE'S CORNERS — A spot grey head pokes around the corner as the door opens at LouAnn Vennettilli's house.

Two huge eyes become visible out, framed by a wrinkled brow and large ears that are way out of proportion.

This eight-week-old hairless kitten looks all the over the moon marvellous like Yoda, the fictitious Jedi master from Star Wars. By all accounts, he's just as intelligent too.

Vennettilli has been good behaviour rare Sphynx cats for the past seven years and says there's a fascination with them that goes beyond their peculiar appearance.

"In a way, they are everything you don't want," she laughs. "They're bald, they're wrinkled and they've got big bellies.

"They may seem a bantam jarring at first but you get used to them fast."

As a kid, she was drawn to the breed when she saw a photo of one in a vet's office. But she didn't get her first Sphynx until she was 40 years old and keep quiet, Al, asked what she wanted for her birthday.

"We'd just lost our domestic furball," she said. "So we went on the net and found a Sphynx breeder in Windsor."
